Miss Christy has known P. since high school. I have known P. for over 20 years.
P. has been addicted to alcohol for as long as I’ve known her. Nothing anyone could do could remove her from her next drink…
Except God.
This week, P. has been sober for 7 days.
Her words:
“Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy, and that is exactly what he’s done to my life.”
But God is giving LIFE back to her!
Redeemed. Bought and paid for by the beautiful, precious blood of Jesus.
She is a daughter of KING JESUS, and she is learning to walk in His footprints.
Is the road ahead easy? No.
In fact, Scripture tells us there will be difficulties, trials and troubles. But the difference is—we have the footprints of Jesus to follow, and we have the Holy Spirit of the Living God LIVING IN US.
Satan does come to steal, kill and destroy…
BUT THE LIVING GOD SAYS:
“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…”
— Joel 2:25
And the promise continues:
“And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of Yehweh your God, that has dealt wondrously with you: and my people will never be ashamed.”
— Joel 2:26
You can’t possibly “help” someone else without the Holy Spirit also “helping” you see your own flaws—reminding you that His compassions are new every morning.
And then you get to join in the praise of the amazing Living God—the God who created the earth, the heavens and the galaxies with mere WORDS, yet chooses to be so intimately and intensely involved in our lives.
Don’t believe me?
Skeptical?
Take a DEEP breath.
Hold it.
Not too long, or you’ll meet Him and remove all skepticism. 😊
But when you can’t hold your breath anymore, and you finally breathe in that fresh, beautiful, life-giving oxygen and fill your lungs…then slowly let it out again.
You just received the gift of life—again.
And listen closely to the sound of your breath:
Yah… Weh…
The name of the Living God.
Every breath is a reminder that you are still here.
So, if you’re praying for someone who seems too far gone…
If you’ve loved someone through addiction…
If you’ve prayed the same prayer for years and wondered if God was listening…
NEVER GIVE UP.
Seven days may not sound like much to some people.
But when you’ve watched someone fight the same battle for decades, seven days can look a whole lot like a miracle.
And this story isn’t finished.
God Never Gives Up On YOU!
THE LIVING GOD IS STILL RESTORING YEARS.
